Cedar Mountain Road
While some members of our group were running trails in Moab, a few of us decided to check out the area burned by the Hayman Fire. We could not have picked a better day for some mid-week wheeling. The weather was perfect.
We planned on starting with Cedar Mountain Road, and then down and back on Metberry Gulch. After those two trails we would do Phantom Creek to finish off the day.
After airing down at the fire station at Stump Road, we were soon off to the trailhead. The trail had some cracks from erosion but nothing too tough. This half of the trail is a nice run to Metberry Gulch. The trail after Metberry Gulch is a smooth, easy drive to the end.
You can't fully realize how devastating the enormous Hayman Fire was until you drive through the area. We were all sad and glad we got this chance.
