Rollins Pass East
This is the first time we've run it all the way to the end -- we've never gone past Yankee Doodle Lake before. It was a really nice drive! The scenery was amazing and there was still 7 feet of snow by the roads where they had plowed a path through.
Yankee Doodle Lake is very full this year, with ice still floating on about half of it. People were fishing and there were lots of people around. It was pretty chilly and windy, and stayed that way all the way to the top.
Jenny Lake is just off the main road and is a nice lake tucked away. It has a better area for fishing, too.
There is a parking spot just below the last bit of road to the end of the line for this trail. We passed that and found some skiers and snowboarders building a ramp over the road on the massive drifts. Tom explained that they do this every year. Crazy! We didn't get to see them try it, they were still preparing.
We made it to the end but no one hiked up to the Tunnel. It was a nice run.
