Oh-My-God Road
We werent't even sure we were doing this run at all until the last minute. The weather in town was rainy and cold, and it looked like it was even worse up in the mountains. Still, we thought we'd check it out. We could always go home early.
We met in Idaho Springs and aired down and disconnected swaybars there. Then we headed up the trail. It was foggy when we started, but the higher we climbed the foggier it got. It wasn't too long before you couldn't see very far at all.
In a way, it was kind of a cool experience. It made us feel like we were the only ones on the mountain. We got to the top fairly quickly and then headed down into Central City. The fog finally cleared up.
The best part was how much the weather completely cleared up for the rest of the day. We could look down on the valley and see that we were above the bad weather. We had sunshine the rest of the day, and it was perfect.
We headed off to do Moon Gulch for the first time, excited to try a new trail in the area.
