We'd been in the rain for hours now, and it was still raining. It didn't really increase the danger for the trail, though, because we were never really going very fast. We were careful around the corners.

It started out fairly mellow, and then we slowed way down when the switchbacks started. We came across kids going way too fast on the way up on two separate switchbacks, and they bullied their way through us until they saw how many of us there were. Then they slowed down as we passed each other.

It was a fairly uneventful trip as we made our way down the mountain and into Monument. It was raining, and no one got out of their vehicle on the way down. The rain made picture taking difficult, though the scenery was nice. You couldn't see very far when the plains finally came into view.

When we got to town we went over to La Casa Fiesta for dinner. It was packed, but a big table had just left so they sat us right away. We hoped that the rain would stop by the time we finished, and it did. We got to air up and reconnect sway bars out of the pouring rain. The trip home was a little wet, but not too bad.

It ended up being a great day with friends, even though it rained for most of it. We had a good time!
