Manhattan Road
We'd done bits and pieces of Manhattan Road over the years as it's the start of Sevenmile Creek and the end of Kelly Flats. We were going to see all of it this time, though, and we were looking forward to connecting the dots. We came off of Kelly Flats and most of the group decided to head for home early, so we were a small group as we said our goodbyes and headed north.
We expected to see more people than we did, considering it was the 4th of July weekend. We weren't complaining, though. We cruised along the easy road, and then we screwed up right away at Goodell Corner.
It's a confusing corner, as each of the options looks the same. We turned right, thinking that was correct, and we realized that we were just heading east. It didn't look like we'd be going straight north any time soon, so we turned around and headed back to the corner. Then we corrected our course and kept going.
We didn't stop at the Manhattan Cemetery or townsite this time as we had so many miles left to cover. That meant that we didn't spend much time on this trail.
It was all easy going and then we were out on the pavement on Red Feather Lakes Road. We weren't on pavement long, though, before heading to Deadman Road.
