This is a very confusing maze of trails -- I'm going to make sure I have a full map of the area with all trails marked before we go again. We only went for a quick run and to see Carnage Canyon, but I think we never saw any of it (we stayed on Left Hand Canyon).

Bill brought his Hummer for its maiden voyage and made a pretty good knot out of his winch, but otherwise had a good time -- it was great seeing how it performed compared to our Wranglers. Beth also had new rear tires (with actual tread!) and had her sway bar disconnected, so she had a good time driving a "new" Jeep.

I killed my Jeep in the middle of Big Momma Hill (a very long and very steep hill) and couldn't reach the clutch enough to restart it right away (I managed to scare myself pretty well into a panic and the massive amounts of caffeine I'd had didn't help).

We even saw a bear cross the pavement at the end of the day. I'd like to run this trail again, and soon!

We ran Carnage Canyon first. It was muddy and slick and we had to go around a lot of the obstacles, but we still had a great time. We turned right off of Carnage Canyon once we got to the intersection with Forest Service Road 286 and continued along the…
