There was a dusting of snow on all of the peaks around the trail and we saw snow in places along the trail too. Ladd's thermometer said it was 40 degrees, but that wasn't including the wind chill factor. The wind was strong enough to make you lose your balance at times. Though it was cold and windy, the sky was blue and the scenery was amazing as the Aspen trees were just changing over to yellow.

We got turned around in Alice a few times (of course) because none of us usually starts this trail on the Alice end. The trail is difficult to find from that end. Once we found the start of it we were fine and on our way. It really started to get cold after we crossed timberline and especially at the rock wall. We were adding our rocks when Brian caught up to us, which was great!

We ran down the first hill, then everyone turned around to run up it again, then back down again. It's a fun hill as always. We crossed the valley and went up the other side, then down to the overlook.

It looked nice outside but it was way too cold and windy to eat lunch so we all ate in our vehicles. We yacked on the CB throughout lunch so it wasn't too bad. The wind made a couple of us wonder if we were going to be blown over the side, it was so strong.

We went out to the end of the trail without any troubles. It was early enough that we decided to run Jenny Creek too. These two trails are great to run together.

It was a perfect run with perfect weather and a great group. Since we had three stock vehicles on this trip we didn’t spend much time airing down, but a couple of us decided it would make the trip a little smoother so we went ahead and aired down. We…
