We met Austin and Rit on the Quadratec Bulletin Board -- Austin lives here in Colorado and Rit was visiting from Connecticut. The trail was long and full of fun! The trail started out pretty mellow but climbed very quickly to over 9,000 feet where we found a big mud puddle to play in. Our vehicles looked identical from that point as we climbed over 11,000 feet to the summit. It was pretty chilly and windy, but we only found a little bit of rain. Rich's Bronco died on him near the end (turned out to be a disconnected spark plug) but he got it going again. We all met some new friends and had a blast!

We knew better than to run Kingston Peak from south to north. The trail is just fine in that direction, but finding the southern end is always way too difficult. To make matters worse, we came off of Yankee Hill and went farther north into Alice, getting us turned around…
