It was a wonderful day for the Holy Cross trail. The weather was great, and we only encountered one other Jeep and four hikers for the whole day. Brian and his wife Ranette were joined by their son and daughter, Alan and Alana. Tim had his dad, Ross, with him. And we also sponsored a new member, John. We aired down near the campground, and then hit the trail around 10:30 AM.

John, Alan and Tim were all excellent spotters through the one-way spot. We found the big rocks, and everyone made it up okay.

The next challenge was the rocky area after the one-way sign. Everyone went up through it with no problems.

The last and biggest obstacle, French Creek, took a few tries for Brian. He went to the left side of the obstacle. With excellent spotting, he was able to make it without winching.

Everyone else went to the right side of the obstacle and made it up with little to no problems.

When we arrived at Holy Cross City, everyone took photos and did some exploring around the area. We did encounter a moose as we arrived, but he or she was not too interested in us. We watched as the animal just slowly walked away.

The trip back down was uneventful. We had to do some spotting at French Creek and through the large rock area, but everyone made it down with no problems.

We were able to air back up before it got dark, and we headed back towards home. Alan found a really nice Mexican restaurant in Minturn that was open late, so we all stopped and had a nice meal.

All in all, everyone had a great time, and we all took a lot of great pictures. The fall colors were spectacular. Another great day on Holy Cross.
