Gold Bar Rim
We actually finished this trail in daylight which has only happened once before. It was nice to be able to see Slide Rock without our headlights on, but it wasn't as intimidating in the daylight. Our group was completely split into two groups at that point so we didn't see anything of the other half of the group.
When we started the trail Robert and Eric both went up to the top to do the ledge closest to the very edge of the cliff. Both of them made it up without any issues, and neither one tried the big rocks further away from the cliff. They are getting more torn up every year.
Robert tried to get up the one other ledge between Gold Bar Rim and Golden Spike but was scraping on his skid plate too much to make it up. Eric went at it with a little more gas pedal and made it up, scraping the whole way.
We started down the trail and everyone just enjoyed the last few obstacles on the way down.
When we got to Slide Rock there were some other people there with ATVs and motorcycles, so we got to see how they deal with the hill. It was fun to watch them work at it.
Everyone went up Slide Rock like it was nothing, so we were on our way pretty quickly.
When we got to the big ledge, Robert and Ladd both got on it to see how far they could get. Ladd didn't push it too much but Robert worked at it for awhile. He finally had to stack a couple rocks but probably stacked too many, making a ramp to get up. He made it, though.
Ladd tried the Improbable Hill that Monica can never get up, and of course he made it. He had to use his lockers, though, so that's okay (Monica still doesn't have lockers).
We finished the trail and went out to dinner happy, filthy and sunburned.
