Gillespie Gulch
This is a great trail and very close to Boulder, so we met fairly late in the morning to run it. There were six vehicles (2 TJs, 1 YJ, 1 CJ, 1 Cherokee, and 1 Xterra) and 11 people total. There was only a little snow, but pretty much everything was wet and muddy all the way to the intersection with the Jamestown/Ward road (still closed). We all had a good time (especially Joey and his newly-lifted Xterra) -- and then we hit the cabin and the Chutes.
Monica (TJ) made it up through the mud and rocks, then Kendall (Cherokee), and then Austin (CJ) gave it a few tries. He couldn't make it up so Beth (YJ) tried next without luck. Dave (TJ) went around her and tried to tow her up but the strap broke. Other people needed to come down so we gave up.
Beth left her Jeep near the cabin and Austin, Christina, Joey and Oksana (Xterra) all decided to turn around and go home. Beth and Tedi piled into other Jeeps and we continued up.
We took a look at Nugget Hill (as usual) and didn't run it even though it was dry. We played on a few more spur roads and had fun, then backtracked to go to Whoopdeedoo Meadow. We went past the Meadow this time and a bit past the gate, but then turned around because the sun was really going down at that point. It was dark by the time we got back to Beth's Jeep (safe and sound) -- it was a great time!
