Factory Bench Road
We did the slot canyon hike and trail in Little Wild Horse Canyon first, so we intersected with Factory Bench Road in the middle of it. We were pretty hot and exhausted by the time we got there, so we decided to keep heading for pavement. That means that we didn't actually see the end of Factory Bench Road that goes on top of the North Caineville Reef. We'd save it for another time.
The road was very easy and we were making good time. When we got to West Factory Butte Road, we briefly considered doing it but then decided we'd loop back to it if we felt like it later, at the pavement. So we drove by the trail this time.
We cruised by Factory Butte and stopped at the kiosk for some photos and information. When we saw the pit toilet at the big parking area, we stopped there. We were out, stretching our legs, when we saw a Jeep coming at us. Then we laughed in amazement when the Jeep turned out to be Ben's.
We weren't planning on meeting Ben until the next morning, for those trails. They were out looking for a place to camp when they saw us parked, so they headed up to find us. What a weird coincidence, to be at the same place at the same time! We got caught up and then talked them into coming into town and camping at our campground instead. There were no trees or breaks from the wind out where we currently were, so it wasn't hard to convince them.
We all headed to the highway and then into town. Those of us who did the hike were sweaty and dirty, so we showered while Ben set up camp. Then we ate dinner at Duke's and met with Ben later. It was a great day!
