This is such a popular trail and the group hadn't run it before, so we went to check it out. There have been reports of lots of mud and fun, but this is usually during the winter months, or during the fall and spring when it is wet. During the summer it is dry and not as challenging.

The trail gets its name from the old Bunce School that is still standing. Like most of the land next to the trail, it is private property, so you can't explore it.

Most of the trail is fairly mellow -- a smooth trail with some lightly rocky sections here and there. You may have some troubles passing other vehicles in spots, but most of the time you are close to an area wide enough to pass.

A few areas are slightly more rocky, and may require careful tire placement with some vehicles. One section is quite a bit rockier, though you can go around the largest rocks. Still, this spot may stop some stock 4x4 vehicles.

You never get close to timberline, so you spend most of the trail in trees. We were there in the fall and the aspen trees were really changing colors. It was gorgeous, giving the trail some color.

Bunce School Road was a nice surprise. It would be a great trail for someone just starting out.

The TrailDamage camera finally had too much dirt and sand in it to cooperate, so we did a GoFundMe campaign to reach out for help getting a new one. People really came through and we had a new camera, and we sponsored a few people as a thank you for…
