White River National Forest: Aspen-Sopris Ranger District

The Aspen-Sopris Ranger District has offices in both Carbondale and Aspen Colorado. Land managers from each ranger station work together as one District. Aspen-Sopris manages five wilderness areas. A few of the scenic and historical sites you’ll want to visit encompass the spectacular Maroon Bells Recreation Area, the historical Crystal Mill, Ashcroft ghost town, and the small mining town of Marble.
