Boulder County Hill
We've taken the easy road to the parking area for Caribou Creek before, but we've never gone past it to Boulder County Hill. We were camping near Nederland, and we decided to check it out. Caribou Creek and Eldorado Mountain were both closed and gated, but the rest of Boulder County Hill was open. We hung out at the big parking area for a little while, and then headed up.
It was a nice trail from the start, a bumpy climb into the trees. There were people hanging out at the Saint Louis Mine so we kept going. We appreciated all of the mining remnants and campsites along the way, and then we were grinning as the trail got a bit more difficult. There were some fun rocky sections along the way.
At the end, Holly parked to the side while Monica went to the end. It was really nice in the trees, in the shade with the sound of the trees blowing in the wind.
On the way back, the people at the mine were leaving so we took their place. The scenery was awesome from there, and we took lots of photos. Then we headed back down.
Holly and Bryan brought three puppies and they weren't really enjoying wheeling, so we dropped Bryan, Christian, and the dogs off at the campground before we headed back out to do more trails.
