Bunce School Road
We did the trail in the opposite direction so we could go check out the T-33A plane crash while we still had good weather. After we did that we did most of what was left of Bunce School Road, then we ran Ironclads.
We aired down at Camp Dick, which was deserted except for one RV. The weather was really nice, which was what we had been hoping for. We chatted for a bit, then headed up the trail.
Starting at this end meant starting with the switchbacks. Soon after we were through them we turned off the trail to go visit the plane crash. We had lunch up there, then headed down.
The middle part of Bunce School Road was pretty mellow, and we didn't see too many people. It was odd having the trail pretty much to ourselves.
When we got to the Ironclads trailhead, Dave left us for home. The rest of us headed up Ironclads, and we could talk to Dave on the CB as he was airing up at the Bunce School Road trailhead.
When we got down off of Ironclads the weather was getting pretty chilly. We were almost out when we saw a lot of trash. It looked like someone had dumped their trash out next to the trail. We took a few minutes to clean up the beer bottles and cans, then we headed to the trailhead next to the old school.
We were thinking about running Miller Rock, but then decided to head off to Boulder for dinner instead. We ended up at Murphy's for dinner at a decent hour instead of late at night like usual.
It was a great day with great company.
