Ice Cave Creek Road was the second and last trail for this trail run. We stopped at the start of Ice Cave Creek Road for a short break after running Mount Herman Road. As we were talking, a large group of Jeeps and trucks went past us, so it was a good thing that we stopped -- they were moving faster than we were. We would not see them again for the rest of the day.

Like Mount Herman Road, Ice Cave Creek Road was snow packed. None of us had any issues with the packed snow on the road, though.

We all enjoyed running Ice Cave Creek Road. About halfway through the trail, we stopped for lunch at a pull-out on the side of the road that had a great view of Pikes Peak mountain.

After lunch, we finished Ice Cave Creek Road and went back to Mount Herman Road. We took that trail back to the parking area to air up. It was an easy, winter day.

We had just finished a crazy time on Winding Stairs Road and we were all happy to be on the relatively smooth surface of Ice Cave Creek Road. It was dark, so all but one of the pictures didn’t turn out. There were quite a few big cracks in the…
